I am a birth, newborn + motherhood lifestyle photographer in Calgary, Alberta, and I love it! When I have a camera in hand, I look for special moments that you just want to relive over and over again. I love to create art that you can feel a connection with; images that take you back to memories you loved making.
Whether it be on the day you welcome a new family member, or a sunny summer evening, our lives are filled with these precious moments that we sometimes take for granted. When I am with you, I hope to capture a perfect collection of those little moments for you cherish, appreciate and share with others, for many years to come.

Mama, you know those moments that you hate to love, or love to watch, and always want to remember? This session is for capturing a few of those. A session that takes place in your home, while you work. Doing the same things you do each day to keep your tiny humans alive and well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Each hospital in the area differs slightly on their rules for keeping order in the delivery rooms. For example: Rockyview General only allows the mother to have 2 support people present - that would include me as the photographer. South Health Campus however allows as many as you'd like to have present. A home birth is obviously unrestricted as well. I would speak with your doctor or midwives about these regulations, before making any decision about where to have the baby, and who to have present in the room with you.
If the birth progresses towards a c-section, it is entirely up to the doctor on-call to decide whether I will be able to be present for the delivery. But I would encourage you to be vocal about your preferences, and to always ask for everything you need and want!

Question 5: Are there rules for where I am allowed to have a birth photographer present?

Guys, I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little obsessed with the sessions I do for you. I love doing them! For births I will always get 2 or 3 images back to you within 24 hours - because I know how eager you are to show the whole world your brand new beautiful baby, and I usually can't get enough of looking through those ones anyway! With family and other sessions, I will aim to do the same within 2-3 days.
The rest of the session depends mostly on how busy I am, but this is something I will be able to confirm for you at the time of booking.

Question 4: How long does it usually take for us to get the images back?

I don't really have anything that will take up space or need to be set up. I take up space though, and sometimes lots. I do like to move around to capture different angles and shots while I'm shooting any kind of unposed situation. I also sometimes choose to use a flash, if I think it's worth it for capturing the images I'd like to.
Having said all that, I really like to sit and chat with my clients before birth sessions, to make sure I know what the mother to be needs me to do and capture, and what the preferences are for everyone in the room.

Question 3: What kind of equipment do you bring to set up for births or other in home sessions?

Birth is a very special and sacred experience. I am here to capture it in the way that is important to you and your family. I will never post or share any images or names that you wouldn't want me to, and I provide the option for you to choose the specific images you are comfortable with having shared.

Question 2: What if we decide we want it captured for our eyes only? And don't want it shared?

Umm gross. That seems like a super weird, and definitely terrible idea right? That's what I used to think too!
But then I had my first baby. There is nothing in the world like that first moment you meet her, and the few precious hours that follow. It is like nothing I have ever felt, or will ever experience anywhere else. Then I started thinking - why wouldn't I want pictures of this? I take pictures of everything we do, as well as the pictures I've taken of every. single. little. thing. she's done since then, so why not that? Just being able to capture that moment alone is why it's worth it to have me there.
